Light and tough, this hub has been designed to fit the VW Type II combo spindle and bearings as used on the range of Rorty Supalite Buggies and many other off-road buggies. For use on the Rorty R16 or R11, the important dimensions of these spindles are detailed in the buggy build manuals. A simple spacer (not supplied) may be required with aftermarket spindles which tend to be short to allow rotor clearance.
The rear of the hub is machined in the popular 3 x 5.00″ bolt pattern to allow direct bolt on of sprint/midget style rotors.
On our R16 or R11 buggies, in combination with the Rorty designed uprights and spacers, it takes a Wilwood super alloy 10.5″ dia vaned rotor to suit Wilwood GP320 calipers.
The machined hub cap has a threaded oil plug with o-ring seal (plug included) to allow you to run oil in the front bearings for reduced friction.
Spindles, bearings, seals and wheel studs are not supplied and most are readily available off the shelf from your local auto parts supplier. We can supply any brake parts and hardware you require – just get in touch
*note: the inner bearing race is a shrink fit, the outer bearing is a slip fit to be reatined with bearing reatining compound, instructions supplied. Hubs can be supplied with bearings fitted for an additional fee. Please note during purchase.
