We looked and couldn’t find what we wanted so we decided to make our own. These are 15″ diameter 3 piece wheels made from 6061 T6 aluminium with custom Rorty centres and ding rings.
There are a number of advantages to 3 piece wheels, including the ability to vary off-set and rim width to suit your ride and easy repair of a rim half without having to replace the whole wheel. The up front investment is a little more but well worth it!
The ding rings are optional and are designed to strengthen the outer rim against rock / obstacle strikes without adding excessive weight. Beadlocks are also an option but we don’t think they are necessary with properly inflated and speed rated tyres on these light buggies.
Specs of the Rorty wheels
- Centres – 19mm 6061 T6 Aluminium, CNC machined
- Rims – 5mm 6061 T6 Aluminium, widths from 5″ in 0.5″ increments
- Ding rings – 6.35mm 6061 T6 Aluminium
- 15″ diameter, widths 5″ and up in 0.5″ increments
- Stud patterns – 4 x130 and 5 x 205 for 60 taper lug nut
- Total wheel off-sets will be available in 0.5″ increments. Equal half off-set = -5mm
